About the Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oats

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

  • 2 pitted dates

  • 3 cups cold water

Preparation

Equipment

  • Blender

  • Nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer

  • Bowl or pitcher for collecting the milk

  • Jar or container for storage

  • Drain and Rinse

Once soaked, drain the oats and rinse them under cold water.

  1. Blend the Oats and Blueberries

Combine the oats, blueberries, and water in a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy, typically for 1-2 minutes.

  1. Strain the Mixture

Position a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer over a bowl or pitcher. Pour the blended mixture into the bag or strainer. Squeeze the bag or use a spoon to press out as much liquid as possible. The leftover oat pulp can be saved for other recipes or discarded.

5. Flavor the Milk (Optional)

If you wish, add sweetener, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the strained oat and blueberry milk. Blend briefly again to mix.

6. Store the Oat and Blueberry Milk

Pour the oat and blueberry milk into a jar or container and refrigerate. Consume within 3-5 days. Shake well before use, as natural separation may occur.

Tips

  • Experiment with different fruits and flavorings to discover your preferred combination.

  • Incorporate the leftover oat pulp in smoothies, baking, or as a base for energy balls.

Enjoy your homemade oat and blueberry milk in smoothies, coffee, cereal, or simply on its own!
